HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween!!

These look very "Dracula" to me - like a bat hovering at a gothic window.  To do them, I painted two coats of OPI Flit A Bit, Konaded a dotted design, and used Kiss nail art bat stickers.

Kelsey was a Native American and I was a contractor (we were two members of The Village People!).

October Orange - Starry Night

Spa Ritual I Believe in You

I Believe in You is a rust-orange jelly that covered fairly well with three coats.  It dried at a medium-fast rate (because it applies so thin, it dries quicker).

For this design, I Konaded stars using China Glaze Naughty and Nice, a very dark purple.

And the perfect sweet treat every October: Caramel Apples!

I like to cut mine up because my teeth are sensitive (plus, you get more caramel in each bite this way!).

October Orange - Black, Orange, & Bats

Happy Friday, everyone!  Today my candy corn nail design was published at Seventeen.com.  How awesome is that?  I'm super excited :)  Click HERE to check it out!!

With just a few days left until Halloween, I have another great October Orange to show you.

Zoya Jancyn with Kiss Nail Art

For the base, I used three coats of Zoya Jancyn.  It was a little streaky at two coats, but looks great with three.  Once that dried, I used a bat sticker from the Kiss Halloween Nail Art on my ring finger.  Jancyn dried at about a medium-slow speed.

Kiss - Spooky Spiders

Kelsey used the Kiss spooky spider nails today.  Aren't they cute?  They are also pretty subtle, which is nice (perfect for those who like to celebrate but don't want to sport black and orange nails all the time).

October Orange - Orange is the New Pink

Today I have a pinkish orange (or an orangish pink) to pay homage to both the extremely important Breast Cancer Awareness month and, of course, our October Oranges.  The perfect polish for both?  OPI My Chihuahua Bites, an orangish pink with a fabulous bite to it.

My Chihuahua Bites is an awesome coral (that comes off looking totally red in these pictures... it is impossible to photograph right).  It covered well with two coats and dried medium-fast.

How cute is this little skull (with a heart eye!!).  There are also skulls with little pink bows :)  I love how the polish color shows through in the heart.  These are part of the Kiss Halloween nail art collection, which retail for $1.99 each pack.

October Orange - Adopt A Shelter Dog Month

October is national Adopt a Shelter Dog month, so I wanted to encourage everyone considering adding a pet to their family to visit their local animal shelter.  As you know, all of my wonderful pets were adopted - including our blog mascot, Cara (you can read more about Cara HERE).  There are literally thousands of incredible, sweet, loving cats and dogs in animal shelters across the country right at this very moment waiting to be adopted.

The Humane Society says, "Many pets at your local shelter are waiting for new homes because they were obtained by people with unrealistic expectations of the time, effort, and money required to sustain a lifelong relationship with their pet. National figures indicate that about half of the animals in shelters are euthanized for lack of good homes. Animals at your local shelter are just waiting for someone like you to give them a new home" (Humane Society).

Please consider saving a life and adopting from a shelter.  

In the spirit of national Adopt A Shelter Pet month, I have an October Orange manicure with a pet-loving twist.  For this mani, I used OPI Flit A Bit.  Please consider adopting a shelter dog or cat this month or any other month of the year!  There are tons of incredible dogs and cats in the shelter right now, waiting to meet you.

China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y

Can you get any more Halloween-y than this?  I really, really love this one because it so perfectly combines black, oranges, and glitter for such an awesome October shade.  It covered great with two coats and dried at a medium rate.  It has a slightly rough texture that could be covered with a good top coat (like Seche Vite).  For all the Halloween-loving polish collectors out there, Ick-A-Bod-Y is a MUST have.  I love it :)

China Glaze Mummy May I

Mummy May I has a pure black base with floating medium purple glitter.  It is really pretty, but difficult to photograph.  This could definitely be worn year-round, since it isn't specifically "Halloween."  It dried at a medium rate and covered well with two coats.

China Glaze Zombie Zest

This is quite aptly named, since it is such a zesty limey shade.  Zombie Zest covered in two coats, but a third wouldn't hurt.  It has a warm, glowy shimmer with finer glitter than Mummy May I and Ick-A-Bod-Y.  Very pretty and another nice year-round shade.  Zombie Zest dried a little faster than the other two.  

(This one makes me think of the song Monster Mash - do you think the Zombie Zest could be a dance move?)
